Standard
Moylough Concrete Products pre-stressed concrete lintels are manufactured to the highest standard in our modern plant in accordance with IS 240, IS 326, BS 5977 & BS 8110.
Characteristics
The minimum characteristic strength of concrete at 28 days is 50N/Sq mm. The minimum characteristic strength of concrete at release of pre-stress is 30N/Sq mm. The finished texture allows ease of handling and yet receives all types of applied finishes. Standard lintels are available in lengths from 900mm to 3600mm long at 150mm increments.
Composite Units
- Lintel – per specification in previous paragraph
- Solid blocks should have a minimum strength of 5N/Sq mm
- Bricks of external quality 15N/Sq mm
- Mortar should be 1:6 Cement : Sand with plasticiser
- Bedding of blocks onto pre-cast lintel should be with mortar uninterrupted with DPC
- Bearing should be a minimum of 150mm for spans up to 1.5m and 225mm for spans over 1.5m. Lintels should be bedded on mortar at supports
- Props should have a maximum spacing of 1.2m and remain in position until mortar has matured. Props should be used for spans in excess of 1.2m
Heavy Duty Lintels
Moylough Concrete Products heavy duty lintels are a cost effective solution where longer spans or greater loadings are required. Heavy duty lintels are practical and efficient alternatives to steel beams. No slabbing or other preparation is required before plastering. The system offers a wide range of loadbearing capacities to suit almost every type of application. Heavy duty lintels are available in lengths from 1200mm to 5000mm long at 150mm increments.
